Is there an way to tell roughly how many sales these application have? Is the top premium application sales in the hunderds, thousands, or tens of thousands?

Charles Teague

Sadly, there basically is nothing in the data that will reveal this.

iShoot, which was a top app for a while, reportedlly was on track to make $1m plus, which would put its sales in the hundreds of thousands, so that seems like a likely rate for an exceptionally successful iPhone app.

What do you mean with "popularity" exactly? Is it the number of downloads of every application? Or is it the number of users that downloaded an application?
Can you explain me how you computed the values under the column named "popularity" in the CSV file you provide?
Thanks in advance.
