As I'm surfing the web tonight, I am greeted with the good old Adobe Reader updates dialog. Does any person in the world ever really want this? I got Adobe Reader because I wanted to read PDF files that other people wrote. I didn't want to get repeatedly prompted about updates.
I get that Adobe needs to monetize their free reader, but I figured that between ads and selling the tools to make PDF files, they had pretty much paid for the free reader- they shouldn't need to push other crap onto my desktop using the reader as a lever.
For a while, as I'm sure you remember, they FORCED you to install the Yahoo Toolbar to get/update the reader. At least they got that much of a clue, right?
